Bear Paw Landing…if you are looking for an honest guide, stop wasting your time looking. David Zinn is as generous and genuine as they come. My son has always had a dream to go bear hunting and so when I met David at the Iowa Deer Classic year after year, I figured he wouldn’t be back unless he was reputable. He had an offer of a half price hunt for straight A students. I told my son if he did his part, I would do mine. Bear Paw has an excellent number of bears and you should have a tremendous chance of seeing bear and having an opportunity. Both my son and I shot bears. It was a successful hunt and made great memories. Thank you so much David for a family friendly experience and we hope to be back soon!!! God bless!
David Zinn was an amazing host, and our family had a beautiful week of fishing at bear paw landing. David was available whenever we needed him and was very generous, helpful and kind. I highly recommend bear paw landing, and will be coming back soon!
I've only known David Zinn for a few weeks. We met as he was interested in giving back to the community by donating archery equipment to the Dryden District Conservation Club. He donated several 3D targets as well as grippers & releases. I had the opportunity to go on an archery bear hunt & then a moose hunt. He loves to share his outdoor survival knowledge & skills. I've learned alit in such a short time :)
Had a great time fishing and spending time with family. David is great and spends time to interact with campers sharing stories and helpful advice. He runs a fantastic camp and you won’t be disappointed staying here!
Our family started Bear Paw Landing 50 years ago and recently had a reunion there after 30 year absence (see facebook post). We had great time and are very happy to see the camp in good hands. David Zinn is an excellent owner and host. The boat-in camp is rustic, but clean and functional. The drive-in camp has all the amenities. The outpost camp is very rustic...and great. David is a first class guide . Bear Paw is known for bear hunting, Wabigoon/Dinorwic is a first class musky and excellent walleye fishery. By the way, the negative review below is apparently a hoax by disgruntled former owner...per David, the writer never stayed at camp.

Top notch bear camp! Dave really knows his craft. Nestled in the Ontario wilderness on Lake Wabagoon, Dave works hard to create a great hunting experience. He and his team excel at all the little things like, good food, camaraderie and clean accommodations. We came for the hunt but will come back not just because of the great bears we shot but from an overall great experience.
David did everything in his power to make our stay enjoyable. He took us out in his boat to show us fishing spots, made us some walleye, told great stories and was always trying to improve our stay. He has good things going and a great vision for the future of bear paw!
